Kathryn Tickell

Award-winning English folk musician who plays the Northumbrian smallpipes and fiddle.

She released her debut album, "On Kielder Side" in 1984, followed by: "Borderlands" (1987), "Common Ground" (1988), "The Kathryn Tickell Band" (1991), "Signs" (1993), "The Gathering" (1997), "The Northumberland Collection" (1998), "Debateable Lands" (2000), "Ensemble Mystical" (2001), "Air Dancing" (2004), "Strange But True" (2006), "The Sky Didn't Fall" (2006), "Instrumental" (2007), "What We Do" (2008), "Northumbrian Voices" (2012), "Kathryn Tickell & The Side" (2014), "Water of Tyne" (2016), plus 2019's: "Hollowbone".

Other releases include albums with Oysterband, Steeleye Span, Skinny Lister, Penguin Cafe, Rod Clements, Beth Nielsen Chapman, Terence Blanchard, Jon Lord, June tabor and more.

She has also appeared on the Sting albums: "The Soul Cages", "Ten Summoner's Tales", "Mercury Falling", "Brand New Day", "If on a Winter's Night" and "The Last Ship".
