Television

Television were an American new-wave band formed out of the ashes of Neon Boys in 1973 - they were part of the New York rock and new-wave scene of the mid to late '70s.

Key members included founders Tom Verlaine and Billy Ficca plus the late Fred Smith and Jimmy Rip. Previous members have included Richard Lloyd and Richard Hell.

Releases include the influential 1977 debut album, "Marquee Moon" with its memorable title-track and its more successful follow-up, 1978's: "Adventure" with hits: "Prove It" and "Foxhole". That was followed by an eponymous album in 1992.

Tom Verlaine passed away in 2023, Smith in 2026.
