American alt-rock/new-wave singer, songwriter and musician best known as the leader of The Pretenders.

As well as numerous hits with the band, her other work has involved collaborations with INXS, The Specials, Frank Sinatra and the short-lived house project Moodswings.

In 2014, Chrissie released her debut solo album, the top-40 album "Stockholm", featuring Neil Young and John McEnroe (yes, really). The follow-up album, "Valve Bone Woe" appeared in 2019, with "Standing in the Doorway: Chrissie Hynde Sings Bob Dylan" being released in 2021.
