Inspiral Carpets

Inspiral Carpets

Alternative rock band from Oldham, originally formed in 1983 and part of the late eighties 'Madchester' scene.

Throughout the Madchester era, the band was fronted by vocalist Tom Hingley whose distinctive voice, with the bands trademark organ sound, featured heavily on hits including 'This is How It Feels' and 'Saturn 5'.

The 'Inspirals' reformed sporadically to tour. In August 2011, the band announced they would be reforming with original vocalist Stephen 'Ste' Holt, alongside Clint Boon, Graham Lambert, Martyn Walsh and the late Craig Gill.

They released an eponymous comeback album in 2014.
