Philip Glass

Award-winning American minimalist-classical, opera, systems-music and soundtrack composer who began recording in the '60s.

His influential work includes a variety of styles including ensemble works such as "Music in Twelve Parts ", "North Star" and "Glassworks", operas including "Einstein on the Beach" and "Akhnaten", chamber-works "1000 Airplanes on the Roof", various pieces for piano such as "Metamorphosis" and numerous soundtracks such as "Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters", "The Thin Blue Line", "Koyaanisqatsi", "Powaqqatsi", "Naqoyqatsi" and "The Hours".
