Cranes are a Portsmouth-based dream-pop and alt-rock band originally formed in 1986. After splitting in 1997, the band reformed in 2000.

They released their debut album, "Wings of Joy" in 1991, followed by: "Forever" (1993), "Loved" (1994), "La tragédie d'Oreste et Électre" (1996), "Population 4" (1997), "Future Songs" (2001), "Particles & Waves" (2004), plus 2008's: "Cranes".
