Bernard "Pretty" Purdie is an American funk drummer known for the "Purdie Shuffle" - triplets against a half-time backbeat.
As well as his work with the greats of the jazz, soul and funk world, he has released numerous albums as a band-leader, including the 1968 debut, "Soul Drums".
