Posted: 12 years ago

One of the worst-kept secrets in music was finally 'officially leaked' by The Stone Roses this week - two Manchester shows will spearhead a world tour in the summer. Elsewhere, pop has a decent showing with another full hits tour for Westlife, extra tour-dates for Steps and a tour from The Ting Tings. Solid metallers Biohazard, You Me at Six and Cannibal Corpse also have big tours on sale this week.

Tickets on-sale Friday at 9am unless otherwise stated. For ticket availability, click on the "Buy Tickets" buttons below, on or after the on-sale date and time. Prices quoted are not inclusive of booking fees.

The most talked about reunion of the year was announced this week with Ian Brown and original Roses members all set to play two shows in Heaton Park in Manchester on 29th and 30th June next year, followed by a world tour. And with some new songs. Oh boy. Tickets, costing £55, will go on sale Friday at 9:30am!

In what has become something of an annual fixture, the boys will be embarking on a UK arena tour in May 2012. The 'The Greatest Hits Tour' will see Westlife perform in Newcastle on Monday 14th May, followed by gigs in Liverpool, Cardiff, Sheffield and more before the final date at the SECC in Glasgow on Sunday 27th May - priced from £38.50 to £44 for The O2 and £41.50 for all other venues.

Proof that nostalgia really is holding this country together by a thread comes in the form of Steps going on tour next year. They've had to add more shows in Newcastle (22nd Apr), Glasgow (23rd), Birmingham (25th), Manchester (26th) and Sheffield (27th), all due to public demand - tickets are priced at £35.

It seems everyone wants a piece of the Wiley action, including a large following of fans expected to buy into his next tour. The Evolve or Be Extinct tour (also the title of his next album) begins in Norwich on 20th January, followed by Manchester, Glasgow, Liverpool, Brighton and finally London's Scala, priced at £12 (£12.50 for London).

Lifelong friends Rizzle and Sylvester are already performing at this year's Freeze Festival and supporting Professor Green on tour - but next year, they headline their own UK trip starting in Norwich on 19th February, followed by numerous shows until Bristol on 9th March - many shows are a tenner or less!

With the band still drunk on the success of the new album, a tour has been announced barely days after their last one finished. For March 2012, they have employed the services of Kids in Glass Houses, Mayday Parade and The Skints to support them on what is going to be a hefty jaunt around the UK and Ireland - (£19/£20 or €26).

2012 will see the band release the poignantly-titled ninth studio-album, "Reborn In Defiance", bolstered with a timely string of UK dates charmingly-titled as the "In Your F***ing Face" tour, which kicks off in Manchester on 31st January, followed by Glasgow (1st Feb), Birmingham (2nd) and London (3rd) - £15 (£17.50 for London).

Their long-awaited new album looks set for release in early 2012, songs from which will be aired at their first headlining shows for some time. First stop is London on 22nd November, followed by Bournemouth, Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester and finally Newcastle - tickets start at £12.50.

The Harlem Globetrotters

will be dribbling their way around the UK beginning in Nottingham on 21st March, followed by London (Wembley Arena), Sheffield, Newcastle etc, until the last show at the Liverpool Echo Arena on 29th March 2012. Tickets are priced £12.50 to £40, depending on seat location.

Hemingway, Wheeler et al return to the road with a tour next year starting in Southampton on 11th February, taking in Oxford, Sheffield, Glasgow and many more, ending the tour, of course, in Hemingway's (and The Housemartins') home town of Hull on 6th March, priced around £20.

Support will come from Triptykon, Enslaved and Job for a Cowboy on all dates, starting with Bristol on 7th March, followed by Manchester (9th), London (10th) and Birmingham (11th). This "Destroyers of the Faith" tour, in association with Metal Hammer, costs £18.50 regionally and £20 for London - a bargain for four bands! On sale now.
