Young Marble Giants

Minimal DIY post-punk trio formed in Cardiff in 1978.

Key members include: Alison Statton, Philip Moxham and Stuart Moxham.

They came to many people's attention with the 1980 album 'Colossal Youth', a collection of songs recorded with a basic beat-box, bass guitars and wistful vocals, championed by Kurt Cobain amongst many others.

The album was re-issued in 2007 with their trademark single, 'Final Day', included.

After the band initially split in 1980, various members formed new musical projects such as The Gist (Stuart Moxham) and Devine And Statton (Ian Devine from Ludus and Statton) who recorded an acoustic cover of New Order's, 'Bizarre Love Triangle' in 1989 as well as two albums.
