British downbeat/electronic outfit comprised of producer/ musician Geoff Barrow, singer/ songwriter Beth Gibbons and guitarist/ bass player Adrian Utley. Named after Barrow's hometown, the band enjoyed stardom with the release of their debut album 'Dummy' issued in 1994.

The band issued follow-up album, "Portishead" in 1997, followed by 2008's: "Third".
