The Smiths were a British award-winning and highly-influential indie-rock and pop band formed in Manchester in 1982 and disbanded in 1987.

Key songwriters Morrissey and Johnny Marr were joined by Mike Joyce, Andy Rourke, Craig Gannon and, very early on, Dale Hibbert.

Their studio-albums include "The Smiths", "Meat is Murder", "The Queen is Dead" and "Strangeways Here We Come".

Key singles include "Hand in Glove", "This Charming Man", "Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now", "How Soon Is Now?", "Panic", "Sheila Take a Bow", "Girlfriend in a Coma" and "Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me".
