In 2005, he was shortlisted for the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year award. In 2008, his debut one-man show "Who is Q from Airdrie" (a reference to his trouble-making alter ego in the Metro newspaper) sold out at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival"
