Chris Rea

[1951 - 2025] Chris Rea was a Middlesbrough-born, distinctive rock and pop singer, songwriter and guitarist who had been active since the late '70s. He passed away in 2025, 3 days before Christmas.

His hit songs include "Road To Hell", "Josephine", "Auberge", "Fool If You Think It's Over", "Stainsby Girls", "On The Beach" and the perennial "Driving Home For Christmas".

His most successful albums include "Dancing With Strangers", "Road To Hell" and "Auberge".

In 2016, Chris suffered a stroke which left him with reduced movement initially, but he fought back, releasing 24th studio album, "Road Songs for Lovers" in 2017.
