Squeeze
English band formed in Deptford South East London in 1974, originally featuring Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook on guitars/ vocals, Jools Holland on keyboards and Paul Gunn on drums.
Hit songs include: "Cool for Cats", "Up the Junction", "Labelled with Love", "Tempted", "Black Coffee in Bed", and "Hourglass", among other familiar songs.
They released their debut eponymous album in 1978, followed by: "Cool for Cats" (1979), "Argybargy" (1980), "East Side Story" (1981), "Sweets from a Stranger" (1982), "Difford & Tilbrook" (1984), "Cosi Fan Tutti Frutti" (1985), "Babylon and On" (1987), "Frank" (1989), "Play" (1991), "Some Fantastic Place" (1993), "Ridiculous" (1995), "Domino" (1998), "Spot the Difference" (2010 - re-recording of old songs), "Cradle to the Grave" (2015 - their first album of new material since 1998), "The Knowledge" (2017), plus 2026's: "Trixies".
As of 2025, the band features the original pairing of Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook, with Stephen Large on keyboards, Simon Hanson on drums, Steve Smith on percussion, Melvin Duffy on pedal/ steel guitars, Owen Biddle on bass/ backing vocals, and Danica Dora on keys/ backing vocals.
