British charity and telethon, and an independent sister organization of the United States-based Comic Relief Inc. It was founded in 1985 by the comedy scriptwriter Richard Curtis and comedian Lenny Henry.

The highlight of Comic Relief's continued appeal is Red Nose Day, traditionally held in March although the charity does sponsor various exclusive shows throughout the year.
