Sir Simon Rattle is a renowned, award-winning English classical music conductor who has been conductor of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, principal conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and current music director with the London Symphony Orchestra.

His career has spawned several recordings and a handful of Grammy Awards and , in 2001 he was awarded an "Outstanding Contribution to Music" award at the the Classic Brit Awards.
