British journalist, political commentator and broadcaster. After editing The Independent for two years (following a decade or so in newspapers), Marr moved to the BBC in 2000, becoming BBC News's political editor (until 2005).

Marr went on to host The Andrew Marr Show on BBC1 and produce two history documentary series for BBC2, starting in 2007 with Andrew Marr's History of Modern Britain.
