Rock and pop outfit formed in 1969 by Pete Townshend and John Keen.

The band's biggest and only Top 40 hit was "Something In The Air" (although the follow-up "Accidents" reached 46).

The name Thunderclap Newman has been resurrected from 2009 onwards by Big Country's Mark Brzezicki, Tony Stubbings, Nick Johnson and Josh Townshend (Pete's nephew).
