Sunny Day Real Estate are a post-hardcore band formed in 1992 in Seattle - one of the early 'emo' bands. The band split in 1995 following the release of their second album LP2, with bass player Nate Mendel and drummer William Goldsmith joining the Foo Fighters.

The band reunited in 1997 and again in 2009, featuring original line-up: Jeremy Enigk - vocals/ guitar, William Goldsmith - drums, Dan Hoerner - guitar/ vocals and Nate Mendel - bass.
