[1940 - 2022] Pelé was a Brazilian footballing legend, regarded as one of the best footballers ever, scoring an incredible 1,279 goals in 1,363 games. He began playing for the adult, professional football team, Santos age just 15 and the Brazilian national team just a year later.

He was also a long-term FIFA world ambassador.
