Meatman, Piano Tuner, Prostitute (ft. Stuart Warwick) - Vessels Single Review

Single Review

Comparisons will immediately be made with Icelandic experimentalists Sigur Ros, but thats no bad thing.

This meandering and enigmatically titled track is exquisite, though more of an album track than an out-and -out radio-friendly single.

Unlike anything by Sigur Ros, the Leeds post-rock quintet, Vessels have added a massive blast for the gradually rising crescendo. Also, the use of Stuart Warwicks divine dulcet tones is a masterstroke resembling the downbeat and melancholic musings of say Radioheads Thom Yorke.

Any comparisons with the PR blurbs reference to Led Zeppelins No Quarter are absurd.

The album Helios is due for release in early 2011.

The verdict Sumptuous.
