Single Review

Having supported the likes of Plan B and Chiddy Bang, electro hip-hoppers Clement Marfo & The Frontline step into the spotlight with the release of their debut single, Champion, through KIDS Records (Band of Horses/The Wombats/Kyte).

With a vocal swagger that packs a punch, rapper Marfo has become something of a phenomenon within the underground British music scene. Along with his six-piece band, The Frontline, Marfo not only manages to blend hip-hop with synth-pop to create a beat that would impress fans of N.E.R.D, Dizzee Rascal and Tinie Tempah, but has an anthem in Champion that would sound right at home on the soundtrack of a Bad Boys movie. As a B-side Shock & Awe has more of a hip-rock feel, but again is a track you cannot help but groove to.
