Album Sampler Review

Fugative has seemingly been around for ages. But he hasnt because he just about pre dates the Playstation and just like that computer he is set to upgrade and become even bigger, and this album sampler is a good taster of the things to come.

The one thing I have to say about this sample more than anything is how enjoyable each song is to listen to. Where most Hip Hop artists out there go for the moody bass hooks and sullen posing to come across with 'attitude,' this guy is making ridiculously fun music and putting some fun back into a very serious genre. Its not that he is making pop styled hip hop and its no slur to say its a fun listen - he just seems to have found an excellent niche to create some exciting sounds.

From the opening of Crush right through to Sticks & Stones each of the four tracks are brimming with invention, a solid backbone and really sparkling vocals.

If this sampler is anything to go by the finished article will be staggering, and will most certainly make his ascension to the high end of his genre even more satisfying.
