Grime legend Roll Deep returns to the music scene with Good Times and in all honesty, it aint that good. The song sounds like standard fare for any club DJ and this is a major disappointment to me for Roll Deep always had more of an edge to his style of music and this just sounds a little forced, as if they decided that they had to sound more commercial so they would not fall to the wayside. The one high point to this song is the pristine vocal show from Jodie Connor, who brings a little bit of majesty to the track. Some of the remixes are quite solid, especially the Soulmakers remix, which adds a little bit of attitude to the flat proceedings. With his new album due out later this year heres hoping it has more quality than is on show here. A big disappointment on his return.
