Single Review

T.O.N.Y is Solange latest release, a balladic summer offering thats set to head up the charts. Solanges smooth and strong vocals coupled with laid-back beats and electric guitar make for a great combination. Its funky and jazzy, not sexy in the slightest which makes a refreshing change from some of the identikit stuff floating around at the moment, and it works.

T.O.N.Y is the third single to be taken from Solanges most recent album, Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams. Perhaps echoing on her colourful personal life and past, T.O.N.Y is about a bloke who has stopped taking Solanges calls but still remains upbeat.

The laid-back track borders on Motown and is filled with short pauses accentuated by that Lenny Kravitz-esque guitar. Of course, it shouldnt still be mentioned that Solange is in fact Beyonc Knowles younger sister and that their styles are completely different. This song is set to end those tiresome comparisons.
