Album Review

In 1997, a relatively unknown song called Encore Une Fois broke through the pop perfection that was the 90s and made it to number two in the UK chart, disgruntling the music scenes generic and manufactured bands that had dominated for so long. Ten years on and Sash! are still loved and respected just as much as they were back then and this album proves why. Showcasing all their hits on one album for the first time, Sash! The Best Of is an album not to be missed.

Number one is Encore Une Fois and with its perfect mix of pop, progressive house beats and trance beats, its easy to see why this song is still played on most dance floors around the world. Ecuador is next, a song that also reached number two in 1997. This track captured the pure essence of Sash! and quickly became a popular hit among Sash! followers. Track three is Stay, another number two hit for Sash! back in 1997. The prolific vocal talent and trance rhythm displayed on this song have also made it a hit among dance lovers and has made sure that Sash!s place in the dance history books is truly cemented. Even though these three hits may be the most recognisable of the Sash! back catalogue, there are still some more hidden gems. La Primavera, Mysterious Times and Move Mania are all songs that are sure to surface to the memory after a listen and get you screaming like a 12- year old at a Hannah Montana convention, once again.

We are also treated with Sash!s new collaboration with Stunt. Raindrops (Encore Une Fois) is mash of Raindrops by Stunt and Sash!s Encore Une Fois and is set to storm Sash! back into the charts. Quickly becoming a hit in most venues across the UK, Raindrops (Encore Une Fois) combines pop vocals, house music and a backdrop of old school Sash! Trance beautifully.

This is a great album, jam-packed with Ibiza tunes, club bangers and raving beats. For any Sash! fan out there buy this now and for anyone who does not known who Sash! are, hit yourself on the head and buy it as well. It will have you dancing in 30 seconds for 60 minutes flat. So dont go to the gym this month, buy this album instead. It will be the best workout you will ever need.
