Gilberto Gil

Gilberto Gil is a Grammy Award-winning Brazilian singer, guitarist and songwriter who began his career as a bossa nova musician, but soon began writing songs focussing on political awareness and social activism.

He has composed for a number of top Brazilian musicians, including: Elis Regina, Simone, Maria Bethânia, Gal Costa, Zizi Possi, Daniela Mercury, Carla Visi and Ivete Sangalo.
