John Prine

[1946 - 2020] John Prine was an American country/folk singer-songwriter from Illinois.

Prine was a key figure in the Chicago folk scene and in 2003 he won a BBC Folk Award for Lifetime Achievement and was also inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.

He released his debut album, "John Prine" in 1971, followed by: "Diamonds in the Rough" (1972), "Sweet Revenge" (1973), "Common Sense" (1975), "Bruised Orange" (1978), "Pink Cadillac" (1979), "Storm Windows" (1980), "Aimless Love" (1984), "German Afternoons" (1986), "A John Prine Christmas" (1993), "Lost Dogs and Mixed Blessings" (1995), "In Spite of Ourselves" (1999), "Souvenirs" (2000), "Fair & Square" (2005), "Standard Songs for Average People" (2007), "Singing Mailman Delivers" (2011), "For Better, or Worse" (2016), plus 2018's: "The Tree of Forgiveness".

He passed away in 2020 after contracting the Covid-19 Corona Virus.
