Midnight Oil
Midnight Oil are an Australian rock-pop outfit formed in 1976, and originally known as "Farm".
The band features founder members Peter Garrett (vocals/ harmonica), Rob Hirst (drums/ vocals) and Jim Moginie (guitars).
They have scored a number of platinum and multi-platinum albums, with their most successful period being the late '80s and early '90s, with the release of the albums. The 1987 album, "Diesel and Dust" propelled the band onto the international stage, spawning the hit song: "Beds are Burning".
Other albums include:"Blue Sky Mining" (1990), "Earth and Sun and Moon" (1993), "Breathe" (1996), "Redneck Wonderland" (1998), "Capricornia" (2002), "The Makarrata Project" (2020), plus 2022's: "Resist".
