Sérgio Mendes

Sérgio Mendes is a Brazilian bossa nova musician from Rio de Janeiro, whose music combines jazz and funk influences.

His debut album was the entirely instrumental bossa nova collection Dance Inferno, released in 1961.

In 2012, he was nominated for an Oscar as co-writer of the song 'Real In Rio' from the animated film Rio.

He released his debut album, "Dance Moderno" in 1960, followed by: "Cannonball's Bossa Nova" (1962), "Você Ainda Não Ouviu Nada!"
