Boney M

Highly successful vocal group from Germany formed by the record producer Frank Farian.

In 1978, Boney M produced two of the UK's biggest ever selling singles with 'Rivers of Babylon' and 'Mary's Boy Child'. Both were effectively disco covers and both sold nearly 2 million copies.

The original line-up split in 1986 but Boney M continued to perform in a number of guises.

The only original male member, Bobby Farrell, passed away in 2010.
