Influential and sometimes 'controversial' artists, active since 1970 when their debut art-piece, "The Singing Sculpture", was first performed.
Their key work is often comprised of stark sexual, violent and cultural images, painted within large 'grid' patterns and bearing the artwork's title in one corner (or right across the work itself).
They won the Turner Prize in 1986.
