Joan Baez

American-born folk singer, musician and activist during most of her career since the '60s.

Her many releases include many self-titled albums on Vanguard in the 1960's, "Come From The Shadows" (1972) and more recently: "Play Me Backwards", "No Woman No Cry" (both 1992), "Gone from Danger" (1997), "Dark Chords on a Big Guitar" (2003), "Day After Tomorrow" (2008) and 2018's: "Whistle Down The Wind".

She notched up a few hits, namely "We Shall Overcome", "There But For Fortune" and "The Night They Drove Dixie Down".
