Baaba Maal

Senegalese singer, guitarist and percussionist.

His first studio album was 1989's 'Djam Leelii' (with Mansour Seck). His solo debut was the album 'Lam Toro', released in 1992, with other releases including "Firin' in Fouta" (1994), "Nomad Soul" (1998), "The Traveller" (2016) and the Mumford and Sons collaboration, "Johannesburg" (also 2016).

In 2003, Maal was made a Youth Emissary for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
