Happy Mondays

Manchester/Salford-based dance-rock band formed in 1980 and comprised of Shaun Ryder - vocals, Mark Day - guitar, Gary Whelan - drums, Paul Davis - keyboards, Rowetta - vocals and 'Bez' - maracas, dancing and vibe.

They were at the forefront of Madchester, Factory Records and acid-house/rave culture during the late '80s, early '90s before splitting in 1993. They have regrouped a few times since, most notably in 2012 for several festival slots and tours.

Shaun Ryder and Bez also formed Black Grape in 1993. Founder member and bass player, Paul Ryder passed away in 2022.
