Shearwater are a Texas-based alt-rock band formed by Okkervil River members Jonathan Meiburg and Will Sheff in 2001.

The band features Jonathan Meiburg, Danny Reisch, Lucas Oswald, Abram Shook and Jesca Hoop.

Album releases include their 2001 debut, "The Dissolving Room" plus "Everybody Makes Mistakes" (2002), "Winged Life" (2004), "Palo Santo" (2006), "Rook" (2008), "The Golden Archipelago" (2010), "Shearwater Is Enron" (2010), "Animal Joy" (2012), "Fellow Travelers" (2013) and 2016's "Jet Plane and Oxbow".
