Gilbert O'Sullivan
Singer-songwriter from Waterford whose was a huge star in the early seventies.
In 1972 he scored two US No 1 singles with 'Clair' (also a UK No 1 hit) and 'Alone Again (Naturally)', which topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for six weeks, selling an incredible 6 million copies.
After 'Clair', his second UK chart-topper came in March 1973, with 'Get Down'.
