The Weeknd

The Weeknd is a multi award-nominated Canadian musician, singer and record producer of Ethiopian descent, real name Abel Tesfaye.

Active since 2010, The Weeknd released his first mixtapes in 2011, the first of which was March 2011's 'House of Balloons'.

He was nominated in the BBC Sound of 2013 poll.

Later releases include "Wicked Games", "High For This", the 2016 Grammy-winning album, "Beauty Behind the Madness" (2015), "Starboy" (2016), the 2018 EP: "My Dear Melancholy", "After Hours" (2020), "Dawn FM" (2022), and 2025's: "Hurry Up Tomorrow".
