Los Angeles-based death-goth-rock band formed in 1979.
Key members include: Valor Kand (vocals) and, in their previous and subsequently duplicated existence, Rozz Williams (vocals).
Williams left the band in 1989 only to perform under the name Christian Death as well as the remaining members performing under that same name as well.
The band have courted controversy with alleged blasphemy and obscentity as well as the birth of 'goth'.
