Miriam Margolyes is a BAFTA-winning British-Australian actor, political activist and TV personality, perhaps best known for Professor Sprout in the Harry Potter series of films as well as for her riotous and hilarious appearances on the Graham Norton show and her own "Miriam and Alan get lost in Scotland and beyond" show with Alan Cumming.

She has written the books: "Dickens' Women", "This Much is True" and "Oh Miriam".
