Opera by Giuseppe Verdi about an Ethiopian princess (Aida) who is brought to Egypt as a slave, first performed at the Khedivial Opera House in Cairo in 1871.

Radame, one of the Pharaoh's military commanders falls in love with her and is torn between his duty as a soldier and his love for Aida.
