Happy Mondays

Manchester/Salford-based dance-rock band formed in 1980 and comprised of Shaun Ryder - vocals, Paul Ryder - bass, Mark Day - guitar, Gary Whelan - drums, Paul Davis - keyboards, Rowetta - vocals and 'Bez' - maracas, dancing and vibe.

They were at the forefront of Madchester, Factory Records and acid-house/rave culture during the late '80s, early '90s before splitting in 1993. They have regrouped a few times since, most notably in 2012 for several festival slots and tours.

Shaun Ryder and Bez also formed Black Grape in 1993.
