Marcus Miller

Marcus Miller is a renowned, Grammy award-winning American bass player and multi-instrumentalist from New York.

From a young age, Marcus' talent meant that he was an in-demand player, with his early output gracing albums by the likes of Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, McCoy Tyner, Frank Sinatra, Grover Washington Jr., Donald Fagen, Miles Davis, and many more.

His work with Miles Davis eventually led to him becoming the legendary trumpet player's producer, producing/ co-producing his last three albums - 'Tutu', 'Music From Siesta' and 'Amandla'.

Other long-standing musical relationships include the late soul star Luther Vandross, with whom he played and produced numerous top ten albums and saxophonist David Sanborn, the majority of whose output Miller has either played on or produced.

As a solo artist, his albums have included 2001's Grammy-winning "M2" (Best Contemporary Jazz Album), "Suddenly", "The Sun Don't Lie", "Tales", "Silver Rain", "Free", the Grammy-nominated "Afrodeezia" (his first with Blue Note) and 2018's: Grammy-nominated "Laid Black" (also on Blue Note).

To date, Marcus' bass has been heard on well over 500 albums.
