Shovels and Rope are an American folk duo from Charleston, South Carolina composed of husband and wife Michael Trent and Cary Ann Hearst.

They released their debut album, "Shovels & Rope" in 2008, followed by: "O' Be Joyful" (2012), "Swimmin' Time" (2014), "Busted Jukebox Vol. 1" (2015), "Little Seeds" (2016), "Busted Jukebox Vol. 2" (2017), plus 2019's: "By Blood".
