Gareth Thomas

Gareth Thomas is a Welsh former professional rugby player who represented Wales in both rugby union and rugby league.

He played for the rugby union teams: Bridgend, Cardiff, the Celtic Warriors, Toulouse, Cardiff Blues and the Rugby Super League team, Crusaders.

He came out as gay in 2009 and was voted the most influential gay person in the UK in The Independent on Sunday Pink List, receiving Stonewall's Hero of the Year award the same year.
