Umoja - The Spirit of Togetherness
A musical celebration of South African song and dance 'from the potent rhythms of tribal music to the intricate steps of gumboot dancing, the jazz of Sophietown, the joy of gospel and the pounding energy of contemporary kwaito'.
Umoja ('togetherness' in Zulu), unites 30 young South African singers, dancers, drummers and marimba players, many of whom come from disadvantaged backgrounds.
