BBC Philharmonic Orchestra
Salford-based broadcasting symphony orchestra which performs its main concert series at Manchester's Bridgewater Hall and regularly tours the major cities of Europe and Asia.
The orchestra was founded in 1934 as the BBC Northern Orchestra, and changed its name to the BBC Philharmonic in 1982.
