[1941 - 2011] Cesaria Evora was an acclaimed blues/Morna singer from the African island of Cape Verde whose style incorporated Cuban-Afrique rhythms.

She issued her debut album in 1988 at the age of 47 ("La Diva Aux Pieds Nus" was named after her nickname of The Barefoot Diva).

Other albums include "Cabo Verde", "Rogamar" and "Nha Sentimento".
