Emperor are a Norwegian symphonic black metal band formed in 1991, who originally split in 2001, and again in 2007 (after reforming in 2005) and reformed once more in 2013.

Releases include "In the Nightside Eclipse" (1994), "Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk" (1997), "IX Equilibrium" (1999) and "Prometheus: The Discipline of Fire & Demise" (2001).
