The Earth is a side-project from Super Furry Animals drummer Dafydd Ieaun, who has teamed up with former Catatonia guitarist and principal songwriter Mark Roberts.

Joined by vocalist Dionne Bennett, the band's debut single, Rubbish Man, was released in September 2012.
